
El baloncesto es ya un deporte universal, pero cuyo idioma es, sin duda alguna, el inglés. Para ampliar los conocimientos específicos del idioma del “basketball” para los entrenadores, la Escuela de Entrenadores Asefa Estudiantes organiza “Speaking the Game: A Weekend of English 4 Spanish Basketball Coaches. 1st Edition”, en nuevas fechas que se anunciarán próximamente.

PROGRAMA
Day 1 Morning (9am-2pm) Colegio Estudiantes Las Tablas
- Why do basketball coaches need to learn English? Examples and discussion
- What do you know now? – Team Quiz
- Basic basketball vocabulary
- Basic grammar to:
- Give commands, tell player what you need from them
- Ask questions
- Video Analysis
- Small Group Work on set topics followed by presentations
- Individual group to prepare evening sessions (prepare a 10 minute coaching session, write the session plan in English and conduct the session in the evening
Evening (4-9pm) Polideportivo Antonio Magariños. NEVERA o PISCINA
- 4-6pm: Coaching Clinics Led in English by Sergio Lara-Bercial
- Mini-coaching sessions led by the students, assessed and discussed with the group
- Round table with an English speaking player.
Day 2 Morning (9am-2pm)
- Summary from the day before
- Training Needs Analysis
- Video Analysis of themselves coaching the day before
- Advance vocabulary and grammar
- Practical assignment:
- Conducting a time-out
- Trying to recruit a foreign player
- Doing a press conference
- Writing a scouting report
- Arguing with a referee
- Going to a job interview
- Time to prepare evening assignments.
Evening (4-9pm)
- Coaching Clinic led by Sergio Lara-Bercial
- Practical sessions led by the students
- Summary of the 2 days and Personal Development Plan to get to the next level of spoken/reading English
